Institutional

Institutional facilities often have several groups sharing one building infrastructure. 2Sons brings institutional experience to design support, installation, testing, commissioning, and service.

Coordinate Shared Infrastructure

A change requested by one department can affect equipment rooms, pathways, or system interfaces used by others. Identify those dependencies before the scope is divided into separate work packages.

Cabling and fiber provide connections, while access control, intrusion detection, video surveillance, fire alarm, and AV each bring operational requirements. Define the intended result for each system as well as its physical installation.

Preserve Useful Records

Existing drawings may not reflect every change made during the life of a facility. Review available information and identify conditions needing confirmation before work begins.

  • Agree on a consistent system for room, device, and cable identifiers.
  • Confirm the facility’s approval process for planned interruptions.
  • Separate installation completion from functional testing and owner acceptance.

Plan Beyond the Construction Window

Facility teams need to understand what changed and where to find the resulting records. Include the required documentation and service handover in the project scope.

Our emphasis on workmanship, schedule performance, safety, code compliance, and long-term reliability supports work that must fit ongoing building operations. Contact 2Sons with the facility requirements and proposed schedule to discuss the next steps.
